And there it is again oh, that glimmer in the air and the palpatations strong and the flutter in my heart Just like that fiery ghost that permeated night and that put away the best but hardly left a spark and there the feeling goes again away from me O bitter cup, thou art! have I not drank it all? Through ocean waves I swam over desert I did crawl but it's not my fault

Juneau (free) 03:58
I found my breath in a sea of lead and felt the waves crashing overhead They tore right through like a raging fire and filled my lungs with a muted choir I wanted a witness For all that I'd done So what ever happened to the words gone unsung? I wanted forgiveness for all that I'd done So what ever happened to the words gone unsung? All my friends Have such different ways To say the words We all long to say I wanted a witness For all that I'd done So what ever happened to the words gone unsung? I wanted forgiveness for all that I'd done So what ever happened to the words gone unsung?

Rust 05:42
there's a place where I saw mountains made of rust that stretched and twirled about and shook the heart from dust where saintly clouds glowed red and danced and spun so wild and sun-bleached bone in fields shone holy in the light where rains washed out the black and filled the fields with fire and colors bled away and painted all the sky where time slowed to a crawl and silence filled the air and winds gripped tightly 'round and I was set aside
4.
the smoke and soot, dust and cobwebs around and in the hall, a cracking painting of a boat whose sails were torn in waves that swirled and snarled with anger at the pride of sailors who thought they'd conquered all the world and its hidden corners for good sometimes for love, a chiming bird who sings a song for no one else but rather sings for to make known a fox hid in a darknened wood thistles/the weeds grown hard in the garden their home are merely pulled from their bedding because of the things that we love sometimes for love, a chiming bird who sings a song for no one else but rather sings for to make known a fox hid in a darknened wood sometimes for life we pray for rain to cover up the dusty sins but flooded fields take all but dirt and coldly make things right again
5.
we buried you so sweetly 'neath the yard by the fruit tree near the garden wall and there the dirt will take you to a place where you'll never be left in the dark when you ran away you were so graying you ached in all your joints but never cried and though we loved you, open fields held more there you ran on with the foxes you were more alive than ever a sense of belonging a cry from the deep and the feel of the water and dirt under feet and the rushing of wind through the trees oh you loved it there! What if I had never felt the sting of nettle on my legs and hands and feet would I know the feeling of relief cooling in the water of the creek what if I had never felt the cold of winter's chill that pierced me to the bone would I ever understand the warmth of spring time rolling quickly by and giving life to all that died a sense of belonging a cry from the deep and the feel of the water and dirt under feet and the rushing of wind through the trees oh I loved it there! a sense of a calling a sigh of relief and the feel of the water and earth under feet and the light of the stars in the night oh I love it here!
6.
Little Bird 06:43
Little Bird, I'm afraid of the things you're gonna see this place is not fit for you but it's where you've gotta be I'm cynical to a fault and I can't say that I'd change but I'll endure fire and hell to protect you from the things you fear most in the night and the things that hold you down and maybe then we'd pretend that we're floating off the ground weightless and warm again around us, only air and when we're back down again on the land I'll keep you near and as you're falling asleep in my arms I wrap, wrap myself tightly around you Little Bird, I'm afraid of the things that you might be and only the dimming sun is there to comfort me and here in the morning light I open up my eyes and forget all the pictures of all the things that I have seen now branches bare where leaves once green and the golden blanket thrown the shadows 'cross the great divide and the frosted windows moan the air is cold, my breath is deep I hear the beating of your wings and the sweet small sound of your morning song fills the air and keeps me so warm and as you're falling asleep in my arms I wrap, wrap myself tightly around you
7.
So I stand here in the dark with a weary traveler's heart struggled on for miles and miles and I'd do it all again if for one thing that I yearn oh, to be there in your arms and so I stand here in the dark with a weary traveler's heart

about

L'anarchiste Salt Lake City, Utah

"The music of Salt Lake City's L'anarchiste gives us these sensations that could be read as awakenings - making us understand what it means to be here now. It's about the stream that we have forgotten we can hear rushing from our backyard. When attention is paid to it, its volume cuts to us like the healthy call of a locomotive searing through a crossing." -Sean Moeller, Daytrotter ... more
